🧂 Ingredients (for 4–5 servings)

  • 1 kg chicken (with bone, medium pieces)
  • ½ cup yogurt (whisked)
  • 3 tomatoes (chopped or blended)
  • 2 onions (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1½ tbsp red chili powder
  • ½ tbsp turmeric
  • 2 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • ½ tbsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 1.5 cups water
  • ½ cup cooking oil (mustard or vegetable)
  • (Optional) Green chili and fresh coriander for garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Heat oil and fry onions until golden brown. Set aside half for garnish.
  2. Add chicken and sauté until it changes color.
  3. Add garlic and ginger paste. Cook for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Add tomatoes and all dry spices. Cook for 10–15 minutes until oil separates.
  5. Stir in yogurt and cook for another 5–7 minutes on low flame.
  6. Add water, cover and cook for 20–25 minutes or until curry thickens.
  7. Sprinkle garam masala, remaining fried onions, green chili, and coriander before serving.
